Mimmit koodaa and Amazon Web Services (AWS) is kicking off a brand new study path 2024 for students interested in AWS Cloud Technologies. Along with the study path, AWS also offers exposure to Amazon culture and opportunities for networking. The purpose of the technical study path is to open up new career opportunities and prospects for the industry. During 2024 those who wish are also offered the opportunity AWS certified after the webinar series. The certifications being offered during 2024 are AWS Cloud Practitioner and AWS Architect Associate.

Feel free to join, whether you are new to the field, changing roles or an experienced connoisseur or an enthusiastic networker!

Welcome & Introductions
Let’s get started with AWS!

10:10–10:40
Module 1: Overview of Serverless on AWS
This module introduces serverless services at AWS and how we define “serverless” and the services that customers often utilize in building workloads in this space. Includes a deeper dive on AWS Lambda as the glue between many of these services.

10:40–12:10
Lab 1 (Full Day): Getting Started with Serverless
In this tutorial, you’ll create a serverless application that implements a microservice with an API to store and retrieve data in a cloud database. In addition, we will integrate unit/integration testing, observability, and CI/CD pipeline.

12:10–12:50
Module 2: Event-Driven Architectures
In this module, you will learn why companies are increasingly adopting event- driven architectures to build highly-scalable solutions. Learn how Amazon EventBridge, Amazon SNS, Amazon SQS, and AWS Step Functions can be used to power communication between decoupled services, increasing agility and resiliency of solutions. We will also discuss how to choose amongst the various options available.

Module 4: Serverless Security
Explore how to secure serverless applications using services such as AWS WAF and Cognito. We will also review key considerations in securing serverless compute and storage resources as well as common vulnerabilities.

Here are some resources for you until next time (and we’ve reserved extra time for possible questions, just in case).

Language: English, you can also ask questions in Finnish as there will be local team present during the events.
Possible skill level: All skill levels are welcome. It’s beneficial if you know the basic concepts of AWS Cloud Services.
